  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Audit associate. Day-to-day complete planning, execute and completion audit procedures. This involves communicating with team members as well as the client directly. This is documented in the audit file and presented in a manner which can be reviewed with a clear audit trail. The team is full of all levels of staff, from associates to partners.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I believe the area which makes me enjoy the programme the most is the atmosphere created by the people. i have worked with a diverse group of people from different backgrounds and of different ages. This has allowed me to gain a broad range of perspectives on work issues. Having a large population of young professionals also makes the programme more enjoyable.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I believe the programme is structure in a great way. A three placement pyramid scheme works well and slowly develops your audit skills aligned with university study. In my third and final placement i was given greater responsibility which i believe will intergrate me well in September when i join full time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The people i have worked with at PwC have been amazing. I believe the people make the work environment very positive. I did not encounter any personal issues when on placement but the network of people around me would have been there to support in multiple ways if needed. This was very reassuring.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We had a placement call mid way through our placement where questions were asked on how we are doing. This felt casual and allowed me to be open with my experience. Furthermore, a contact is always available if needing to get in touch with the university directly or subject leaders.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe the university programme has helped me build a foundation of my audit knowledge. I do believe that the most growth in performance capabilities comes from the actual placement experience itself. I definitely learnt quickly on the job and developed my skills in this way to a greater extent to the lectures at uni.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I partook in a 5 a side football after work which was very beneficial to meet other younger people working for PwC. This was aimed to organise bi weekly and was a very casual evening event. I believe this could be pushed more to younger people letting them know of the opportunities .
