  • I work in the Quality Assurance Documentation team, this involves daily tier meetings, issuing GMP documentation, reviewing documents, ensuring the sign aligns with global procedures, working on improvement projects.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt all about the pharmaceutical industry and what it means to work in a GMP (good manufacturing practice) environment. I have learnt about the principles of a quality management system and how this is displayed at AZ. I have learnt about the different business processes that are integral to a quality management system such as risk, change and deviation management. I have learnt about the regulations that apply to a pharmaceutical company and how internal and external audits are carried out.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Form an apprenticeship side I really enjoy researching quality models and seeing how these are applied in my work place and then putting this knowledge into my essays. I am enjoying carrying out my work based project as I enjoy working with other departments as well as implementing an improvement.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think my programme has been well structured, I received a calendar of topics at the start of my apprenticeship and have a good structure of session followed by an assignment every 1/2 months. No direct contact with assessor has slightly lengthen EPA gateway.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received lots of support from my employer in terms of resources to leverage for completing my essays as well coaching from my manager and from colleagues. I have also received opportunities to shadow other departments to expand my knowledge and experience.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • When I have needed support from my training provider they have always replied promptly or have been willing to schedule 1:1's to talk through any issues I've had when necessary.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that my qualification has given me a lot of knowledge of quality as a whole and though my assignments has helped me gain knowledge of other business processes. I think it has given me good knowledge to move into other quality roles.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are lots of chance for extra-curricular activities at AZ. Employee resource groups for physical health, mental health, inclusion and diversity, the environment all set up events and activities for employees to partake in.

  • Yes

  • There is a good culture of doing the right thing and being customer focused as well as giving employees lots of development opportunities in both hard and soft skills.

  • The 5 values of AZ are very important - focus on these and how you've applied these in life when completing your interview.
