My day-to-day consists of getting involved in team meetings and being proactive in projects running, learning from others, collaborating and engaging in material that I find interesting, and spending a few hours a day doing some independent projects with given skillsets and knowledge points also part of my daily routine.
Yes, I have grown immensely in the current team I am in, I am well understood by my manager who accommodates all the needs we require as apprentices in the team. I am much more confident to run projects and be part of a team as a significant role contributing with my own ideas where I feel needed.
My programme, is by far I would say the most enjoyable, I have the opportunity to develop myself as well as build my professional skills as well have a good support system. I have had many opportunities to express what I aspire to do with reassurance that I will be accommodated for my development in my career.
We are required to be in the office 3 times a week with the choice of which days are given to us liberally. The team is also flexible enough to allow me to choose my own routine as long I manage my studies and my programme well. There is always a generous amount of time to restructure and reorganise when we rotate around throughout the year.
The employer is fully supportive and understanding of all the responsibilities and additional work from university we have to do so there is never pressure from that side. I always feel comfortable discussing strengths and weaknesses throughout my development without feeling judged and I am always encouraged to do my best and be more confident.
I feel fully supported by the training provider and always accommodating for any issues that arise. We have the opportunity to study at our own pace using the recorded and given material and also to attend live lectures. I personally prefer the online teaching way as I get to be in my own personal comfort while learning.
The qualification has helped me immensely understand the value of the work I do. I can piece everything together and have a more whole and broad knowledge of the more intricate details of the data science projects that we do. With that, I also feel more confident about my abilities.
Yes, the company has a massive culture of vibrancy and there are so many events and activities to get involved in weekly from bake-offs to bookworm decipherings, online egg hunts, volunteering days, fundraisings, sports clubs, there are many networking events especially on National Apprenticeship week to go out and speak at schools for children interested in entering apprenticeship schemes.

AstraZeneca has amazing ethics of transparency and integrity. A good work environment encourages self-development and proactivity within the work community and outside. Mental health and neurodiversity are also highly valued and well taken care of, and many other benefits are included exclusively for the employee such as shopping discounts, free days out and private health care.
Always be yourself. Being your authentic self will allow you to develop more true to your nature and allow yourself to blossom into the person you aspire to be. As much as you are working as a team to thrive for a successful delivery of the company you are also developing your own self so always be yourself and let your strengths and weaknesses shine through.
