Job involves Assisting the Senior Relationship Managers in the Corporate and Commercial team, involved in the customer journey including assisting in renewal documents, day to day banking queries that the customer has. I have also completed and created Fraud and Operational service reviews for the customers and chased their Annual and Management Information
I have development my skills at formatting emails, which is a big part of the day to day job, and received a lot of feedback about the emails I sent. I have also learnt about how interest works, as well as different loan types and banking/ regulatory information that relates to the role
I have enjoyed learning about how different mortgages, interest rates and some banking regulation works, as well as the different types of banks and other financial institutions. I enjoy interactions with the other apprentices. I also enjoy how challenging the course is, and how it has pushed me to knuckle down on revision
The Zoom calls are very well structured, and help to provide a template for the program to progress. It is also good having an idea of how the program will progress in the future and the timeline of the programme. It does seem quite well organised, however the timescales of the exams are questionable
my Line manager has been very supportive, and open for me to join in on extra apprentice activities and has said that my apprenticeship takes priority over the day to day job. He has also offered lots of support with regards to filling in the blanks that we find in my learning along the way
Jodie has been very open and supportive, and the tutors who have been hosting the course have been very knowledgeable and open to giving more support if necessary. the regular catch ups with Jodie also work at keeping me on track and helping me to spot gaps in my program
I feel like at my level it wont help massively as a lot of the regulation is covered by other aspects of the business, but it will increase my knowledge. It also hasnt covered much yet about the customer interaction which is a large part of my current and future role
We have had some social events around christmas and easter, and a volunteering event is being planned for the team to interact with the community. I have attended some networking events but believe that it would be good to have more planned, especially in the Commercial environment. the ones I have attended were more geared towards smaller businesses
Yes
it has been a very open and welcoming experience, with the opportunity to meet lots of different people. the team has been great at supporting me and the hours are very flexible. it has also offered great rewards such as the pay increase and cost of living payment which i was eligible for
be open when interviewing, and if you get the role it is always a good idea to reach out to others from outside of your team to develop your knowledge. prioritize your workload to ensure you dont get overwhelmed and speak up and ask if you need further support in completing your work
