  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Working on real estate clients to audit their financial statements, daily meetings with my engagement team to update and assign tasks such as confirming share information via companies house or completing lead schedules relating to trade receivables. Requesting, collecting and going through information from the client to gain evidence of testing and validification of accounts.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have improved my computer skills such throughout my placement, such as downloading/sharing/editing documents and using computer software like microsoft excel to enhance the quality of my work. I have also improved my communication skills through working with my team and giving daily updates about the progress of my work.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement with the location, people and work. The placement bing in central London allowed me to experience the busy season amongst the best people in their field who were all are very supportive and encouraging. The workload also was not too much and let me learn the basics at brisk but steady pace.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well structured as I know what was expected of me and who to ask questions of if I was uncertain. I was reached out to by my engagement team right away and so could start learning and working immediately. The workload was also evenly spread throughout.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received lot of support from my employers, I had daily catch up meetings with my team to ensure I was confident in the work set for that day and was encouraged to ask questions, which were quickly answered, if I was unsure. Also if a hard task was set for me a member of my team would coach me through it and explain the process to me.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received lots of support when working toward my ICAEW qualification with daily catch ups to ensure I could perform well and continue to learn, I also was given assistance in my work if I struggled and had all my questions answered

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification helps me understand the purpose and processes of my work to enhance its quality. Through my understanding I am also able to become a more productive and reliable member of my teams

  • Yes

  • Pwc is a positive and supportive environment to work in with helpful colleagues and a manageable but nicely testing workload.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Be keen to learn and ask questions if not sure on a subject. Apply yourself to your work and be resilient in overcoming difficulties.
