  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Monitor the share prices of our clients and their competitors, the macroeconomic drivers of these changes which helps me to run analysis on companies to provide the most accurate advice to our clients around their stock market performance.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes - I think there are so many corporate skills that I have developed in my role such as communication, time management and equally learning how to network with colleagues in your team. A new skill for me is Microsoft Excel, this has been really helpful for my role development.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my program, all of my colleagues at work are really lovely and supportive - I really feel part of the team. My work is so varied, no day is the same its great! It can be challenging at times balancing work/university but it's usually manageable if organised.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • well structured - always the same day for uni each week and training/exams scheduled evenly to help with planning and revision etc.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There is always someone to go to with any questions, my line managers have been great and outside of the traditional structure, colleagues are always keen to support where they can too. There are many events and talks organised for additional knowledge and interests too.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Support varies depending completely upon the lecturer, some topics you will have to teach yourself. They teach most of the content in lecturers but outside of this, the onus is on you to process the information and understanding it in time for the exam.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have definitely started to see some of the topics and financial vocabulary become a part of my day to day role which has been helpful.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are so many opportunities to get involved outside of your role, for example I have engaged in lots of charity/volunteering sessions, attended talks from outside speakers such as Toto Wolff, there are many networking events in the evenings every couple of weeks and sports clubs.

  • Yes

  • Such an encouraging and supportive place to work, i genuinely look forward to coming in each day. There is something for everyone and the culture is just so positive - they really make it a place for everyone to thrive and develop into the best person they can be.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
  • Do your research on the company, what are initiatives or actions they are doing/working towards that you align with - highlight your experience and why it would be of benefit to the role you are applying to. Be yourself and smile! (Also wear a shirt in all video interviews)
