My role includes working with my mentor, with our main goal in mind to reduce leakage for our area. This means searching areas for leakage using various tools and equipment.
Yes, I knew next to nothing about how to do anything I do now before I started my apprenticeship. But I have learned lots of new skills which I use everyday and feel confident in. I learn more skills each day and grow more confident, there’s always more to learn.
I very much enjoy my programme, I feel a natural progression has happened throughout the course of the apprenticeship due to the way the course is structured.
I think the programme is organised quite well, I always know when I'm going to the academy and always feel the sessions there are structured very well and have lots of necessary detail.
I receive a lot of support from my employer, whenever I need something or need to contact them, they always pick up the phone and help me in whichever way they can.
I receive a great deal of support from my training provider, if there is something I do not understand about the work, then they are always able to answer my questions, and if they don’t know the answer they make sure to get someone who can answer it.
I feel like a majority of the training given to me by training provider, is training I use on site although I do not feel like all of the training we are given is training I will use when I have passed my apprenticeship, however I enjoy the training regardless.
Yes, there are many extra curricular activities which are set up by the new talent network.
Yes
I believe that Severn Trent is a job for life and there are many opportunities for other job roles here, so even if someone doesn’t like the job they are in there is always another job they can apply for.
I would tell them that as long as you try your best at the job and do what you need to do then your never gonna have any problems.
