arrive at work and get changed into workwear. We then ask our process leader what jobs we have for that day, if we're working on a die he gives us maintenance schedule and we perform the work appropriately, or if there's a specific job he want us to do we follow verbal instructions. we record evidence of the work as we do it.
i have learnt many new skills, particularly the ones used in die maintenance as it is a specialist role, but also for things used to facilitate die work, such as crane training and NVQ work. in our spare time when there's no work for us to complete we can do other work such as practicing using the wire cutter.
i enjoy all of the work we do even though it can be repetitive it is constantly engaging and we have to focus and constantly improve which is good as stops the days feeling long and draining which is what can happen when work isn't engaging and there's nothing for your mind to do
overall the structure is good, there is a checklist of experience and knowledge i should be getting from the work i should be doing in each area in each stage of the program, however on a day to day basis when there just isn't a lot of work available it can feel slow. college is structured very poorly and has no organisation
