My job consists of training all week with 3 days being practical training in a workshop and 2 days spent doing degree work.
I have learnt lots of new skills such as PLC and developed some skills that I had done in school such as machining.
The support I receive from my employer is excellent as they are always available to answer and questions and will support me as much as they can.
There are occasions where I feel BMet leaves us in the dark about some situations however, in general the support is good and I feel confident in my apprenticeship
I feel that the qualification I am working towards has improved my skills and made me feel more confident when I go into my placements in the workplace in September.
There are lots of opportunities to get involved in extra curricular activities such as football, netball, newsletter team, SharePoint team and charity champions.
Yes
I think that it is a very good opportunity to get the same qualification as a person that goes to university whilst working for an excellent company and learning all the practical skills that are needed to have a successful career in the industry.
I would advise that applicants research the company and the specific plant that you apply to and ensure that you are confident to do a presentation as BMW is very keen on people being confident speakers and knowing how to do a good presentation.
