I am the L&D specialist for academy and Finance and I am responsible for designing and delivering quality training resources and experiences for my areas as well as driving improvement projects across the business. The work is varied, from managing budgets, to managing supplier relationships, creating, delivering and evaluating. There is never a dull moment!
Working on the apprenticeship has helped me cement my understanding. I particularly enjoyed picking up the theoretical knowledge behind learning and development. This is something I was previously lacking. Applying this as well as all I learnt through my academic work has been brilliant. Assignments were real value add to my day to day
I do enjoy my programme as I love learning! The programme is structured in a way that you can weave it around your day job responsibilities giving you content every week, interactive activities to complete and review answers alongside peers and a coach to guide and support you throughout
The programme is very well organised and structured. I will admit I was overwhelmed at the beginning, lots to take in but soon got up to speed on the flow of the modules, how things worked and getting into good habits to keep me uptodate with my apprenticeship alongside performing in my job role
My employer has been brilliant. We have a designated apprentice manager who is always on hand to support. Matters can be escalated and they are brilliant at resolving issues. My line manager has been brilliant too and one of my peers in the team is also completing their apprenticeship so we have been supporting each other too
Full financial support and support to ensure 20% of the job is achieved. I have access to a huge amount of support being in the L&D team, peers, line managers, wider HR managers, Academy team. Never have I felt alone but I feel everyone is rooting for me to be successful
100%! The apprenticeship has given me confidence in my job role that my thinking is appropriate and my ideas are robust. Everything I am learning on my L&D apprenticeship is applicable to my role at Nestle and this is one of the reasons I wanted to take up this opportunity in the first place
There are always lots of things I can get involved in. We have a strong volunteering scheme where we can take two days out of our work time to help community projects and follow areas we are passionate about. There are a lot of internal events to attend as well as being encourage to attend virtual webinars and external conferences
Yes
I have worked at Nestle from over 20 years and can honestly say it is a brilliant organisation. The people and culture are fantastic, the company is so big offering so many different role opportunities and exciting fresh challenges. I have never been tempted to leave and feel very fortunate to work here.
