  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Excel work has improved, learnt new office based skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Enjoy the flexibility of the programme with flexitime working arrangements.

    6/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Not greatly. Engineers seem to be ignored compared to other functions. End point assessment seems to be up in the air with our scheme and not a lot of guidance for what is around the corner.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Originally upon joining, help was promised with work or college work. The opposite was found out from early careers when it came to work with college, the function helped instead. Seeking help from EC felt like a battle. However it has greatly improved since.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Not a great amount if not the bare minimum if it wasn't thanks to one tutor. Constantly been addressed with Early Careers.

    5/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe it has some benefits but I have not and don't want to be in a very specific engineering role in which a degree in electrical engineering is essential knowledge for the role.

    6/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Rare social events from the LHAC with no real incentive to attend. Sports activities I'm unaware of but would be interested.

    4/10

  • 9b. Why?
  • Good flexibility. Competitive and lucrative compensation. Always surrounded by good people.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Be ready for acronyms.
