  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day to day role is reaching out to IT managers of both new business and existing business accounts and building a relationship with them in order to sell them our products and services.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to become better at time management as my day to day is very free role and therefore i need to make sure that im getting everything done. I have also learnt alot more about the sales cycle and what goes into making a deal in this industry.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I believe that this programme is very good and useful as it throws you right in to the deep end but gives you all the necessary help that you may need. It feels that you are treated as an equal which also helps a lot whilst also still having a lot of tailored training to make sure that you keep improving within your job role.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I believe that overall it is well structured with clear knowledge of apoprenticeship work and your actual job role. although this can sometimes be hard to manage it teaches you that you need to be careful with your time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There are many people that will offer you support within this role and a clear route to raising problems within your office. In this job i have felt listened to and that people will take action on points that i raise.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I believe that we could get more support but they have been working on this since i started and believe that it is getting better in terms of the amount of support we recieve.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe it has helped alot in terms of best practices and the general jist of it all however in my job role i believe that you have to create your opwn style that best works for you.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • The activities at our work are endless. I believe that it is almost like going to university whilst in a job with all the fun you can take part in consistently.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend it to friends who i believe wouldn t shy away from hard work. This is because it does take alot of hardwork and some rubbish days to be succesful however the benefits completely outway any negative.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Softcat?
  • I would tell them to just be themselves as this job is all about personality and confidence in my opinion.
