Senior Physiotherapist working in NWCATS service. It involves assessment and treatment of MSK patients referred in by our local GP in the community.
I have learnt and developed a lot of skills such as leadership, education and interpersonal skills.
I enjoy the programme a lot, however I do not feel we get the relevant experience in work to match the skills learnt at university.
The programme is well structured and all the information is presented to us.
I do not receive a lot of support from the employer and they were not aware that we needed to tick off certain skills and competencies in work despite previous graduates from the course. We have raised this with work, however we are yet to see any changes.
We receive the relevant support, however because the employer is not supportive enough when we raise this to the provider, they just put it back on the employer and the two of them just bounce off each other rather than one of them taking responsibility.
It allows me to perform a lot better in my role.
We have social events approximately every 3-6 months.
Yes
They are a good employer and develop all their staff as much as possible. The only issue is that they do not appear to have any structure to courses they put staff on.
Be ready to work hard.
