I work in facilities and I make sure everything is running smoothly around the build hall.
Yes, I have learnt plenty of new skills. I have learnt how to use new software I have never come across before and I have learnt how to put project management techniques into practice.
I enjoy my programme because I feel like the projects I am doing actually mean something to people.
A very solid structured programme with clear KPIs and pay rises year after year.
You get a great amount of support from the employer and they check up on you plenty for catch ups on how placements are getting on.
We have 1 day a week at university and we alternate with working from home and going into Lancaster.
I did not know a lot about project management when I started so learning the basics in the first few months at uni really helped me understand some important processes.
There are social activities for apprentices starting the business with an internal group of apprentices who set up these big events. There are also plenty of networking events to get stuck into.
