My role involves me working alongside different teams within my business, helping them all deal with and use their data much more efficiently. I support the process of gathering, cleaning and processing data in different functions.
I have learnt many new skills throughout my current apprenticeship, this ranges from learning how to work effectively as a team with a range of different people. And I have had a lot of experiences with different types of data, further expending my knowledge on how to understand and use the raw content I am provided with.
I currently am enjoying my Degree apprenticeship as a Data Analyst with my company. The Early Careers team are always helpful with any problems that come my way and the people within the company have always been friendly and welcoming towards me. Overall, I am currently happy with my role and excited to progress further.
The apprenticeship has had a solid structure towards my apprenticeship. The baseline of our course and content has been set well to be understood. We are able to tailor how we develop, as an apprentice if we believe we have a gap in knowledge or skills in a certain sector, then we can request to be put into teams where we can develop or learn this skill for a few months. This is greatly helpful.
I receive a good amount of support from my employers, this ranges from my current placement manager or the early careers team. They provide monthly support meetings to check in on us and make sure there are no problems with working or university, and will try their best to help with anything within their power. They have always been willing to listen or reply to any queries which is great!
Overall for the university, there have been good and bad times, but I cant be too harsh as this is the first time they have taught our course and I could say we are the guinea pigs, participating in this course in order to improve the flow and streamlining of teaching the relevant content. During some assessments we have had some misleading direction towards assessments which have confused some people and affected some grades. But overall, the tutors are very nice, knowledgeable and welcoming towards the students, and the course does go into the necessary topics for my role. From my perspective the, university is constantly improving which is great to see.
My qualification has been helping me provide knowledge to some work I am handed during work, this makes content a lot easier to understand as I already have some knowledge of the topic. I couldnt say that some of the topics I have been taught have not been irrelevant or unused.
Yes, we have activities called Stretches which all apprentices do during or out of working hours in order to develop themselves further. These are regularly posted as email broadcasts and are usually offered to everyone.
Yes
They have a great working environment and culture, everyone feels included and from my experience the majority of people are approachable. BAE provides the necessary training or qualifications to its staff in order to help them develop or become qualified for new roles or activates.
Make sure you can demonstrate and discuss how you like to work and your core values (do you enjoy working with varieties of new and different people)? Discuss how you can work well within teams and be able to listen to others well in order to help one another understand what needs to be done with efficient teamwork.
