My Role day to day involves ensuring that all tenants are billed the correct rent, service charge and insurance all on a correct deadline. I also have to ensure that workflows which are set by surveyors have been completed correctly and by the request date, these can also consist of setting up new lease vacating tenant and billing the tenants if some billings were missed.
I have learned lot's of skills while working at Savills, one of the main skills which I have been able to develop and improve is my communication skills as me and my team communicate well in order to ensure that we can keep all of our clients happy. At the same time I have also improved on focusing on tasks on my own as I want to ensure that I keep all of the clients that we deal with happy and help them as much as I can if possible.
I enjoy the programme as I feel that all of my colleagues are very helpful if I am stuck on anything new they explain to me why we do specific things and it gives me a better understanding about my job role. I feel like the way the programme is designed it has a positive impact on how I can grow which will allow me to help the business grow and improve.
The apprenticeship course is very organised as there are lots of different online teams meeting which give me lots of new tips that will help me grow and improve my knowledge about the business as well as the job role that I am working in. I also like the fact that Savills reward the apprentices that have been doing well with an apprenticeship awards meeting which also allows you to have the chance to meet other people from different departments.
I receive lots of support from my employer as they ensure that I am understand what I am doing on the job which I believe is beneficial. Also gain lots of support and allow me to feel comfortable to speak up if I have any issues that are both work and study related.
From the training provider I receive lots of supports as my tutor has been willing to have one to one sessions with me for anything that I get stuck on as well as all of the other group sessions which we have online. However I do feel that the system that we get the videos and practice questions that the use isn't that impactful as I feel like it isn't engaging and the questions that they give to practice are very different to what the exams are like.
I do feel like the qualification that I am trying to achieve from this apprenticeship has an impact on my role as it gives me the the in depth information to what goes on behind the software. On the other hand I feel that some of the information that I am gaining from the qualification can be unnecessary as the systems that we use does all of the behind the scene accounting for you and that it doesn't help me know what to do in my role.
Yes there are many different activities that Savills sets up for all the employees to get involved. some of these are sessions where you will be give tips on many different things such as self improvement. Savills also sets up many different social activities which allows you to network and will helps make you feel comfortable with all of your colleagues.
Yes
I would recommend Savills to a friend as they are a very supportive company which has lots of people within the company ow are willing to help you as much as you can. they are also very keen on growing all of their employees and offers many different paths you can take to allow you to reach your own goals while at the same time achieving the businesses goals.
Some tips that I would give to someone who is applying to Savills is that you can ask as many questions as possible as all of the employees are willing to help and they want to help you to be able to grow into a a successful employee which could potentially lead to you being able to get lots of different promotions and allow you to achieve your own objectives that you have set yourself.
