  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • School administrator - all office based, attendance, answering telephone calls, emails - face to face enquiries, genreal office duties - paperwork, admissions to school

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Developed skills further and have a better understanding to my role - I can prepare and plan duties better and more productively. I would also now be able to run a project within school with more knowledge and confidence than before.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Being able to have time to talk to my tutor about what I needed and which direction I was going in, she also supported me and encouraged me to get over the final few months, which I found difficult.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Due to my role - I was able to organise the programme to fit in with my duties at work. she was supportive and we re-arrnaged a few tasks as opportunities arose throughout the school year.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • At first I received a good level of support, then my collegue left and I was on my own the support faded - due to no-one being able to support me. We then had a period when there were changes in management and again the support differed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider was extrememly supportive, I had to take a break from study - due to personal issues. My tutor explaine dhow to apply for a break and what to do to get back on track.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Some areas of the course have definately helped within my role, there are elements of the course which do not apply to my role - due to working in a multi-academy trust, we have a central team who deal with HR/Finance/Business Development and Estate Management,

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Currently not many - partly due to Covid and parlty due to I don't live near other staff.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The staff are all friendly and welcoming.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to St Augustine's CofE Primary School?
  • Be your true self and focus on the long term rather than each day. Every day in a school is totally different and there is alot of support for everyone.
