My role involves managing the staff twice a week, ensuring rota is running smoothly. On a day I would be responsible for running activities, updating risk assessments, essesing for mobility, manual assistance assessments, personal care provider for clients. Ensuring staff have all information about daily activities and clirn5s. Etitti g person centred plans, meeting with social workers, physiotherapy and care officers.
I have developed organisational and management skills. I have also developed manual assistant skills, writing risks assessment, planner, medication MAR charts and medication administration. I have learnt about fire riskas, communication, positive behaviour palns, holistic approach to care,i have developed better English, writing and computer skills. I have achieved level 2 in care.
I enjoyed learning new skills, i found the support very good, especially my tutor are very helpful, understanding and going extra mile.to ensure I have the right support and information. I enjoy fact that I can speak to my tutor anytime and be able.to have my answers promptly.
The programme is clear and structured well. I know what I need to.do and what is there in the future. I think the deadlines are possible and I have enough time to finish my workload. The programme is organised well around my work and home time with flexibility when needed.
I am receiving a lot of support form my employer. I am giving time to do my work and have my exams. My manager understands that I need extra time sometimes and I am able to do my work in time. I was give access to a computer and a printer that also helps a lot.
I am receiving enough support from my training provider. I have access to online help, various classes and tutors that re helping with Maths and English. I also have a lot of help from my tutor who makes sure that all assignments are explained to me clearly. If I whave any issues my tutor always helps me.
I feel.that I have more understanding of my role and how to carry it out effectively, within the law and always having my client best interest at heart. The qualification and the training made me realise how much potential u have got and how.much I can help others.
There is nothing at my work place at the moment.
Yes
The company helped me to get my qualifications and trained me very well. I am able.to do my job to the best of my abilities. When I needed extra training it was always available. They were flexible.when I needed time off for health problems. Its a hard being a carer and DSO but it's good to have support when needed.
Ne honest, advertise your qualities but make sure you also highlight the need and desire to train and be better with time. Show your flexibility and ability to work in varied environment where no two days are the same. Be prepared to be a team player but don't be afraid to lead.
