  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is to support children's health and safety on daily basis. Provide them with good care and safeguard them, making sure the children'sneeds are met. I also set up activities, observe children and communicate with parents, giving them feedback about children's progress and development. I also work as part of a team

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • All life live, all life learn. We are regularly offered training opportunities by our manager, so we try to keep our knowledge skills updated. Recently I attended behaviour training and shared my experience with colleagues at staff meeting. We also are refreshing our skills by reading policies or sharing ideas with team

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I like to improve my skills, learning new ways or getting know new points of few about my working practices. I like the positive attitude from tutors, and I can do study at my pace. I also learn how to balance my off job hours. I quite enjoy the study.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is quite good organised. I am happy to access the BUD at any time I can, it let me to research topic , what skills are needed. Programme let e see, how far I am in my studies and how long left to finish it. I also easily can get in touch with the tutor

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Sometimes I get some useful information, like tips or advises, what I could do better. If I need some hours off work to do my study or speak to tutor, I always receive them. My employer also offers some educational trainings, which could support my study or my work experience.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I am meeting tutor on regular basis, she helps me with planning my study, which tasks need completing. She checks my work and gives feedback about it if something needs adding. She also provides me with tutorials, where I can learn more about my work and get know new skills .

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • While studying, I am starting to look at my work experience from different point of few. I learnt new skills and started to use them at my practice. I feel a bit more confident in completing my daily tasks and in understanding children's development. The study helps to improve my knowledge about children development.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At the moment, I am not aware of any activities like that, apart from having parents evening

  • 9a. Would you recommend First Steps Nursery to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I know , how much effort we are putting in place, to provide children with a qualitative care, to help them to improve and develop. I would recommend it as the place, where children can socialise, where they can be introduced to healthy food, where they can enjoy different indoor and outdoor activities


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to First Steps Nursery?
  • Be yourself, be creative, enjoy being with children, be ready for some challenges and don't forget, that there is a wonderful multicultural team , which is friendly and ready to help. Be ready to demonstrate your skills, as we are happy to listen to new points of view. Your welcome
