I am a Building Surveyor, and day to day my role involves completing site inspection, liaising with clients, reviewing building information such as leases and O&Ms and writing reports.
I have developed my skills in report writing.
The programme has rotations in different teams which give greater exposure to different aspects of the job and greater understanding of the profession.
The rotations are organised well and we rotate into all the teams for 6 months to make sure we get enough experience to complete the APC.
Our APC supervisors and counsellors are assigned but many colleagues are also APC assessors and give a lot of guidance and support with the process.
We have Apprenticeship Outcomes Officers who we have formal meetings with regularly to ensure we are on track. The staff are generally always available to speak to if any issues arise.
The subject matter taught is generally relevant with the role, and the staff are very experienced in their field and give good insights.
There are various social events internally and with external clients, lunch and learn webinars which give exposure to different teams within the business, sports teams and colleague networks.
