The experience was beneficial and successful in providing an insight into the structure, tasks and concepts that a trainee or practicing solicitor would work towards while in the firm.
I gained the ability to discuss and debate on rather controversial topics while also learning of the expectations of a solicitor working on projects with high stake clients.
I enjoyed the work experience to a large extent as there was a large range of activities to interact with the members of the team as well as listen in to the presenters with easy to follow presentations on difficult legal concepts.
The work experience was organised to a large extent through ensuring that there was always a task available to do and resources were completely accessible.
I learnt a large amount about the company culture as well as what it would be like to work there through the fantastic insights given by the panel of trainee and practicing solicitors alongside the supervisors.
This experience has further expanded my interest in studying law, and I hope to go on to qualify as a solicitor in the future.
I was not paid for this experience.
There was a key opportunity to network and meet others through a networking lunch.
Yes
The team at Pinsent Masons have been great in developing the work experience programme to provide students with an insight into the legal sector. I have been very satisfied with the experience as I have learned a lot, engaged with others and have further improved my confidence in pursuing law.
I would advise that others just be themselves as although the firm has an expectation for grades, the trainee solicitors have given great advice on the fact that being dishonest and trying to be someone you are not will likely result in consequences if you attend an interview.
