The work experience involved meeting solicitors, trainee solicitor and people completing apprenticeship programmes with the law firm, pinsent masons. They talked us through what the work is like and how long it takes to complete their degree. They explained how they got there and what working there was like. The experience involved group activities and presentations.
Training development included learning what working at a law firm is like depending on the stage you are at. Development included learning CV and interview skills and how to present one self when applying and getting a job in the law sector. It was very useful as they explained everything thoroughly.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience as I got to hear different people's perspective on working as a lawyer and trainee solicitor. They explained everything in a lot of detail and helped us gain a better insight into pinsent masons work and what day to day life is like as a lawyer.
I think it was very well organised. The company emailed us before it began a timetable and all the events took place at the times they were scheduled too. It was organised well to fit in everything and still have time left in our day for other things such as breaks and lunch
I learnt a lot about the company culture and their values as a company. Their employees explained very well what it is like to work there from the early stage of an apprenticeship all the way upto partner at the firm. They explained what a day is like working there.
I believe the work experience helped me a lot in deciding my future career as they helped explain all the different law paths to gaining a degree including going to university and also degree apprenticeship. They made everyone aware of different ways to complete a law degree and how to get there with them.
I was not paid for this experience but it was still very useful . It was great to understand what being a lawyer is like and what work they do day to day. It was online but still did a lot of work everyday and learnt a lot of new information
I would say there were opportunities for networking as they introduced lots of different people training and real lawyers who were helpful and gave us a lot of useful information about being a lawyer. There were many companies in loved which introduced us to many new people throughout the program
Yes
They have us a lot of useful information and it was a very easy process to follow. I would suggest anyone interested in doing it as they have nothing to loose. You gain lots of extra and new knowledge which will help you in deciding your potential future career opportunities
I would advise they apply early on to guarantee a place and also do attend all of the workshops and online meetings because they are very informative and help you decide what you would like to do in the future with your career in law or in any other sector.
