During my work experience, I worked with other students and we gained insight into the career of Law by interacting with Solicitors and Lawyers who work at Pinsent Masons. They helped us with how to create Cvs and personal statements and taught us what makes a good candidate for Universities. It lasted three days and each day was something different which kept me motivated.
I developed a range of skills such as communication skills, team working skills, leadership skills. I also gained insight into how lawyers trained to become who they are and personally this helped me on what to include in my CV. The skills that I gained will help me prosper in the career of Law.
I enjoyed the work experience all throughout the program. My favourite part was the activity of debating whether Jaffa Cake is a biscuit or cake. This activity really helped me learn more about my peers and the workers as I worked with them and we helped each other with the activity.
The work experience was organised very well. They provided us with a website that contained all the resources we need for the program. It also provided us with a timetable which told us which event was occurring at what time. They also informed us if any event was cancelled and personally this was really well developed,
I learnt quite a lot about the company as I was working with the employers of Pinsent Masons. Oi learnt that the company was very diverse which is quite considerate as I am a POC myself an his really encouraged me to support the company and I am happy that I got to work with them.
This work experience helped me learn more about my future career path of Law as they allowed me to gain insight into the specific law career i wanted by allowing workers in that specific sector to teach us about their job and how they managed to get into that career.
No I was not paid for this work experience but it does not bother me because this work experience will look good on my CV and I also learnt more about the career I want to pursue in the future so not being paid wasn't an issue for me personally
Yes I think there were a lot of opportunities for networking and meeting other employees because we had the opportunity to work with employers of the company and they taught us more about the company and taught us how to get into good career paths, which I really enjoyed learning about.
Yes
Pinsent Masons is a really considerate and helpful company with students especially as they go out of their way to make sure we learn the most that we can to help us prosper in the future and they allow us to discover many new skills and experiences which helps us learn more about ourselves and encourages us to keep striving for our goals,
The tips that I would give to people who want to apply to Pinsent Masons is that they should put themselves out there and continue to stand out so that they are more likely to be able to work with the company. I would also encourage them to learn about the company before applying.
