My role is to support the class teacher on a day to day basis which includes safeguarding, setting up resources for the day, first aid, personal care, intervention group teaching as well as daily observations on the children which helps to support the class teacher with the children’s development
I have learnt many skills such as learning in depth about how to support children with special educational needs, how to safely provide first aid as well as how to correctly safeguard children and myself day to day. I have also developed my personal and social communication skills by closely working with teachers.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the programme from start to finish. My tutor has been absolutely fantastic on supporting me throughout this journey and has made the process of completing my assignments incredibly helpful. My manager at Inspire ATA has also been very supportive and helped me in all capacities.
It is very well structured and each online zoom lesson is booked well in advance. This has been helpful as it has given me enough time to complete my assignments to my best ability. Furthermore the programme of the apprenticeship can be quite flexible during the school holidays such as repeated online meetings.
I receive an incredible amount of support from my employer. This has been from arranging childcare for my two young children as well as allowing me to finish work at a suitable time. My employer has also been supportive during my assignment’s and have given me plenty of time to complete them
My training provider has given me lots of support during working towards my qualifications. For example they have been able to extend an assignment deadline whereby I needed more time to complete it as well as being very helpful during the recruitment process. Furthermore, the training provider have supported me during end point assessment
I feel as though my qualification through my training provider has provided me with vital skills that I can apply to my job role on a day to day basis. For instance, during the holidays my training provider has lots of useful webinars which I learn a lot from and can apply to my job role
There is social activities such as work dinners and work lunches. There is also a yoga class that can be done with colleagues after school.
