During my role at Lloyds Banking Group I was integrated into a fully working software engineering team. This meant that I was integrated apart of the team like any other employee. I worked using agile methodologies and was in a very positive environment. While there I learnt many new skills.
During my work experience at Lloyds the I was able to develop some existing skills. These included improving on my programming knowledge. I learnt how to work in an agile team, and put lots of learnt skills to good use. I was also able to develop soft skills like public speaking.
My work experience at Lloyds Banking Group was very positive. I was made to feel very welcome in my team and all the people I was working with. The overall enjoyability of the programme was very high as I felt it to be extremely rewarding. At no point did the experience feel as if it lacked something or was boring.
My work experience felt very well organised. There was always an opportunity for me to contribute and complete tasks. It was clear that my placement there was structured. I was given a project to work on that was set aside for me. Whilst working on the project I had structured meetings that occurred at similar teams each week.
During my work experience at Lloyds Banking Group I received lots of support. I was working with a mentor the entire time so whenever I had a question I was able to ask. I had weekly meetings at work where I could say if I had any more serious questions and ask for support.
I did my work experience at Lloyds Banking Group in the summer after I had done my exams. This meant they did not need to support me in this way. However, I was always driven to learn more and increase my skills. They always supported whenever I wanted to improve on any skills
My T-Level helped me a lot with my role. My qualification had me learning the basics of python. My role had build a model that was written in python. With this underlying knowledge I was able to complete this task in adequate time and apply my learning on my qualification to my role.
During my work experience at Lloyds Banking Group there was many opportunities for extra curricular activities. There was multiple team building evenings where as a team we went bowling or mini golf. These activities were very enjoyable, as they allowed me to get to know members of my team more.
Yes
The reason why I would recommend Lloyds Banking Group to friend is because it was a very enjoyable experience. I learnt lots of knew skills, including soft skills that are still applicable to every day life. Other reasons include the fact that I felt integrated and apart of the team even though I was only on work experience.
When applying to Lloyds Banking Group I would recommend that you apply even if you are having doubts. My experience was very rewarding and definitely not what I expected from the job description. If you like learning and increasing your skill set this would be for you. A final tip would be to try your best in the field that you have selected.
