  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I train my fellow staff members on how to safely driving PIV equipment carrying out refreshers, assessments along with full novice training. I also train staff on new equipment along with safety procedures enforcing company site rules. I also train new employees into the business carrying out manual handling training along with mentoring and development.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've learnt how to do mentoring in my development at wayfair which has enabled me to enhance careers of fellow employees. I have also learnt about general health and safety in at work. I have also learnt about management and how to lead a team of associates at work.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed it a lot, it was a lot to take in at first but I enjoyed learning and developing and I could feel my confidence growing with every assignment completed. There were times I felt like I didn't have time to complete my work but with the support of my manager it worked out fine

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • it was well organized by smart training for sure. I felt like there was a decent structure to my learning outcomes and assignments with given to me with never ending support and guidance. Wayfair also allowed me to have time to work on my projects and revision. It was well structured

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I recieved plenty of support from my employer. They always allowed me to manage my own time and gave me 10+ hours a week to complete my revision and work. I also spoke to fellow associates regarding some advice and support and I was never turned down once which was great

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I revived plenty which is great. There are so many people at wayfair who have different fields of expertise and I can approach them with anything I need. Smart training helped me loads with phone calls, emails and zoom calls which helped me complete my work in good time with it being top notch.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I like developing people simply. I develop people by giving them a skill which is already great but I wanted an extra edge to my game. This qualification has gave me techniques to use to help improve my training skills. I am thrilled that I have gained more knowledge

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is some events that wayfair do outside of work. There are LGBTQ events to attend in support of culture. I am not aware of any sports events I can attend that I am aware of or either any professional networking events based in the UK. I am curious to find out more

  • 9a. Would you recommend Wayfair to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Its a place of great culture and attitude. With never ending opportunities it has changed my life with them proving courses for me to greater my work life. It also offers a great work life balance along with some fantastic people who are always helping to ensure everyone is taken care of


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Wayfair?
  • If are given an opportunity then take it! Way fair always wants to improve and innovate and they will do that with there talent already within the company. Always ask questions, be nosey, never back away from a challenge because you have nothing to lose at way fair for sure.
