My job role is to carry out electrical assembly on products within the MBDA portfolio. These tasks include soldering, wiring and cable routing. On a day to day basis, my role consist of getting a job given to me and making my way through the different operations required.
I have learned many skills within manufacturing and with buisness skills through my apprenticeship. i have gained skills in both mechanical and electrical manufacturing with my day to day role, as well as business skills such as improved communication and debating.
I have enjoyed my program even though i have missed out on large amounts due to Covid. This meant i was left out on 2 weeks of residency at a retreat which helps to develop apprentices within the company.
The scheme has improved in structure whilst being on it as feedback from myself and other apprentices allowed managers to see where the program needed improvement. Overall the program is ran well.
I receive vast amounts of support from my employer with many schemes which help myself and other employees.
My training provider out-sourced my HNC/HND. That training provider did not offer large amounts of support in regards to help and support with work and learning. the main training provider has helped me largely with my NVQ.
My HND and NVQ allows me to have a large understanding of the activities i carry out whilst doing my role. without these qualifications, a person would have little understanding of how the electrical and mechanical roles are done.
There is a football team, charity team and multiple other groups within the company,
Yes
Overall a good workplace, which has many benefits involved such as different schemes such as car and gym schemes. The work within MBDA can be challenging but with good teams, the work can be spread.
