I started my apprenticeship on the 5th September straight after completing my Level 3 BTEC in Manufacturing Engineering. I opted for an apprenticeship rather than uni because there will always be the opportunity to go to uni later on in life, but an apprenticeship can be like gold dust.
I have been able to work with other engineers from across a wide range of sectors with vast amounts of knowledge and experiences. I have learnt how an international supergiant in Balfour Beatty operates to be at the top of construction.
I really enjoy my programme as it has provided me with new experiences and thoughts which I may have not gotten elsewhere.
My programme could be better structured. As the programme is fairly new, it is not as laid out and structured as others.
I receive plenty of support.
Quite a bit when on block release, not much at all when in the office.
To put it simply - I would not be where I am in terms of performance without this role.
There are plenty of networking events / webinars meetings etc. But not so much social activities which the company is working on to improve.
Yes
Very friendly and supporting with great facilities, insight and provisions.
I would advise you to learn some prior knowledge as to what your role may be.
