  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I started my apprenticeship on the 5th September straight after completing my Level 3 BTEC in Manufacturing Engineering. I opted for an apprenticeship rather than uni because there will always be the opportunity to go to uni later on in life, but an apprenticeship can be like gold dust.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have been able to work with other engineers from across a wide range of sectors with vast amounts of knowledge and experiences. I have learnt how an international supergiant in Balfour Beatty operates to be at the top of construction.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • To put it simply - I would not be where I am in terms of performance without this role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are plenty of networking events / webinars meetings etc. But not so much social activities which the company is working on to improve.
