My experience of doing an apprenticeship with MBDA has only been positive. From the Induction process to the individual and professional development that the company offers, they have always helped me to better myself in all areas. They regularly run workshops and sessions for the benefit and betterment of their employees.
Despite still only being in the early stages of my apprenticeship, I have gathered a number of highly versatile skills that are transferable through many different areas of life. Be it professional communication, Business etiquette or job-specific skills, they strive to make you the best at whatever it is you do.
Despite still only being in the early stages of my apprenticeship, I still enjoy the programme that I'm on. My day to day activities may differ, according to what's going on within the rest of the company, an that's one of the things that I look forward to.
In terms of the structure and organisation of my programme, the company help me by explaining what my course looks like, and how I would be spending my time during my apprenticeship, before I started, so that helped give me an insight as to what I would do whilst on my course.
No matter the problem, my employer has always supported me and my colleagues. Be it in company or whilst I'm with the training provider, they always strive to make my time as effective, easy an efficient as possible. They also help with my personal development, through the running of workshops and webinars covering a range of different topics.
I receive some support from my training provider, in the sense that all of my course is laid out for me and I know the different sections and units on my apprenticeship. I understand that I have an end point assessment (EPA) that I have to complete before the end of my apprenticeship, in order to complete the course.
The units and different topics that I study through the training provider are often ones that would offer little to no benefit in terms of practical experience, as often these units have little to no connection with the work that my company carries out, or the work that I would be doing in company.
There are a range of extra-curricular activities to get involved in at MBDA. When you start, they send you on a number of professional networking events to meet different members of the company, as well as the other new starters, across all of the sites that are in the country.
