Learning to be a pipe welder, working all around the UK Scotland, Birmingham, and Somerset so far. Doing flux core, MMA and TIG welding processes and using angle grinders and hand tools.
I learn how to weld to x-ray standard, stick weld on plate carbon steel and flux, core weld on carbon steel.
I enjoy it very much, but I feel it would be improved by better communication and honesty.
It has been very badly organised, but the opportunity I have been given has been amazing.
Little to no support. We get minimal contact with our employer.
It has been a very hands off approach to training, so we have had to train ourselves, but this should be better now as we have moved to Tipton in Birmingham for a 12 week training programme which should help us a lot.
Without our codings, we would not be able to go onto sites and get the hands on training we need.
We have done some team building activities, and I believe we will do some more in the near future.
Yes
Despite the problems we have experienced, the opportunities we have gained are amazing.
If you need to address any problems copy more than one person in and do follow up emails until you get the issues resolved.
