  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Daily tasks include reviewing the risk register to assess whether risks need to be reviewed, mitigated or closed. I set up new risk meetings and reviews and ask for feedback and actions from risk owners. Risk is an ongoing process in my company which is important to the whole project.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme a lot. I have learnt a lot of great skills whilst completing the course. I move to a different placement every 6 months which is beneficial for getting an overall view of the business and it has enabled me to identify areas of project management that I am specifically interested in.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is well organised as the placements rotate every 6 months and we also have one study day a week for university study. We are always aware of when we will move placement and we aim to receive a placement in an area we have not yet worked in to gain the competencies that we need to succeed in the programme.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a good amount of support from my employer. As an apprentice, we have our placement managers and placement point of contacts for support with everyday tasks. We also have a skills coach who we have 1-1s with to discuss the progression of our competencies. We have a functional lead who helps choose our placements and then we have the early careers team as a whole who are there to support us.

  • I receive good support from the university for working towards my qualifications. We have assignments and exams regularly throughout the year to measure our progress and we receive feedback on these to assess how we can do better next time. We also completed our PMQ Level 7 qualification with help from the university.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe the qualification helps me a lot in my role as we learn about areas of project management which are used in our company everyday. It helps for us to learn the background and further details about how processes work and why processes are completed in a certain way. this has helped me in work as I understand what my team are talking about when they bring us a way of working.

They provide many opportunities and benefit to you as an employee and it helps the local community.
