Working alongside the teacher and other staff members to allow children to do well in school. I support children from helping them to zip up their coat to teaching them how to use a number line.
I have learnt so many useful skills to use in my future. It’s helped me to develop as a person and taught me so many useful techniques I can use in any situation I’m put in. It’s made me more confident in myself and with others.
I liked the practical aspects of the apprenticeship. I loved that I was learning on the job and that it gave me so much more real experience. It then made the assignments much easier to approach as you had the knowledge from on the job that you could use to back up your knowledge.
My tutor was amazing and supported me with everything I needed. They regularly check up on you. When I first started, it took a while to get used to the system with the paperwork, but afterwards all the assignments were easy to access and the system (smart assessor) was easy to work with.
I received lots of support during my apprenticeship, even coming towards the end of my apprenticeship they are still finding ways to help support you when you leave.
I had a guidance meeting to help me see my options and support me in further qualifications.
I feel it gives me a better understanding of the reasonings and theories behind the children’s actions. It gives me the resources and knowledge to use in the classroom.
There are lots of opportunities you can sign up to.
Yes
I think it’s a great way to learn and I personally learn better working alongside studying. This gave me lots of experience to use in the future.
Be confident and enjoy working and learning at the same time. If you are not sure about something, always ask someone and they will help you.
