  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In essence, it’s marketing the brand to the internal stakeholders from national leaders to factory workers. Working from within an organisation is a strategy to get the most out of employees and profit because better work environments lead to better work ethics.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really love this programme as everyone at Nestlé is really helpful and friendly. I felt welcomed from the start. It’s a great company to work for and covers so many areas within the business.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I’d say it could have been more organised. I would like to have known more about the apprenticeship when I initially applied and also when I would have commenced my apprenticeship as I didn’t begin until 4 months after joining.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lots of support, but I feel there is a lot of admin based tasks compared to when I was at university.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It’s a difficult one as my apprenticeship gives me a scope on something I’m not actually covering at work, but I feel I am still gaining skills from my employer and trainer. And I am able to work in external comms and PR through my colleagues manager.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I am part of NestAbility which is an employee network for disabilities. A place where people can look to for support and insight. I am also part of York cares which is a local volunteering community where I can use my professional skills to aid and support them.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Nestle to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • As a company, they are trying to improve in all areas. With their diversity and inclusion in hiring, with their pay, with sustainability, research and development. They really focus on collaboration, creativity, and innovation and in this day and age it’s highly important for me to work for a company like that.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nestle?
  • Be yourself, show them your flair and focus on collaboration.
