I work as a regional manager, managing a geographically dispersed team of Plant Health inspectors, who cover London, Essex and Hertfordshire.
During my apprenticeship, I have learnt lots of new skills on how to more effectively manage myself and my team.
I really enjoy learning the programme, as it allows me to improve in practical ways that impact postively those I work with on a daily basis.
The structure is great, I also like that I can move my workshop dates around and join different groups.
I have to make time in the working day to complete the apprenticeship work. There is very little involvement from my employer. So, although they do not prevent me, I cannot say they support me greatly.
The support is okay. It could be more.
It has given me great skills in managing myself, such as time management and self awareness. This in turn improves my ability to do my role as I have a better understanding of what is reasonable and which areas I need to improve.
