I am a customer service assistant. I am the first person the customer will see in branch. My role covers a variety of tasks such as taking cash deposits and withdrawals, booking appointments, taking on enquiries and educating customers on our online services. I also run the mobile branch.
Yes, I would say I have learnt a lot regarding the financial industry. I have been able to develop my customer service skills to a high and professional standard.
Sometimes I find it quite stressful fitting in my studies with my work. I enjoy the content that I’m learning about, it helps me understand my job better. It helps me recognise the skills I’m using each day.
The programme is structured well, but I have found it very difficult to fit my studies in at branch. This is due to understaffing.
It’s been very difficult to get time to complete my studies during working hours. My manager has tried her best and has planned time in for me, but sometimes that isn’t possible.
My training provider has given me a lot of support during my course. He helps break things down so I can understand them more and achieve my goals.
I’d say my qualification really boosts my knowledge of my field and this makes me perform better. I understand our product and processes in detail so I’m confident in talking about them.
As far as I am aware, there is not any activity like this available.
