I work very closely with MEP Engineers looking at drawings and using these drawings to model onto Revit. I have also worked on creating drawings and calculations for technicians to use in modelling.
I have learnt many new skills, like improving communication, confidence to do presentations, through learning at college and applying it at work.
I really enjoy the amazing projects I have been able to work on and also being given a lot of independence to complete these tasks. My daily tasks vary always so it is exciting for what the next day has in store.
My line manager is very helpful in ensuring I have tasks and able to go to CPD events. I think in terms of the planning of the course for EPA, they need to improve on knowing the timeline and deadline.
I receive a lot of support. Being neurodiverse, I have had my struggles however they have been able to accommodate throughout and are all understanding of this.
I have received help with deadlines and talking to the college however, they do not understand much about the CIBSE EPA.
I feel it has made me do a lot of reflecting on my own work and also learn more about the standards and regulations within the industry.
I have been the social lead so I had the opportunity to organise and decided events, but there are also summer parties and Christmas parties every year and also CPD events organised with companies to improve our knowledge on systems and products.

Arup is a lovely firm to work for, everyone is so friendly and helpful, there are amazing projects to work on with so much support and great opportunities.
Be yourself and do not be afraid to ask silly questions as there is never such thing as a silly question.
