I look after the head office expenses for different cost centres. My job is to forecast and budget these costs and monitor for any favourable and unfavourable variances.
I have been able to apply my finance knowledge from my degree and from CIMA. I have developed my communication and time management skills.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme as it offers a variety of opportunities and great insight into the wider network of Nestle.
Our academy leads put a lot of time and effort into our programmes which really shows in the quality of the delivery of these. It is pretty well organised and if there ever is any trouble, in most cases it is resolved immediately.
I receive a lot of support from my employer and the academy to help me progress through my programme as well as my apprenticeship. There has been some recent miscommunication between the tuition provider and academy which created slight issues but the support has been great.
My training provider is very helpful and supportive and there is always help available. The talent coach assigned to me was very responsive and helpful and the online tutors and forums were also helpful.
I believe by studying for CIMA, I am able to apply my learnt knowledge to work and further develop my knowledge and understanding. It has also allowed me to be competent in my role and get involved in work that I would have struggled to do without my qualification.
At Nestle, there are plenty of activities to get involved in. I am currently involved in the Better Lives committee and Diversity and Inclusion committee.
Yes
Nestle has a culture where people are willing to and want to help others. There are also a wide variety of opportunities available to suit your interests.
I would recommend reaching out to the wider community and networking as much as you can and want. There are so many knowledgeable individuals within Nestle from whom you could learn so much. I would recommend putting in calls with people to learn a bit about their role at Nestle.
