Spent the week working with other students in teams to complete a range of tasks. These tasks were set either by Computacenter or their clients, Network Rail, Dell and Tesco. At the beginning of the week, Computacenter gave us a tour of their Hatfield office and a run through of what the company does. We spent a lot of time developing our soft skills and did a lot of team building.
Team work, leadership, listening, communication.
I loved getting to work with other people around my age as it made the experience a lot more enjoyable. I also loved meeting with some of their clients because it gave us an insight into what Computacenter does and how they help their customers. Finally, I loved how I got an understanding of the IT industry and careers within this.
Very well, you could see how they put a lot of effort into the tasks they assigned and planned.
Learned a lot about the business but would have loved to speak more with their employees and ask questions about what they do. There were a couple of opportunities where this was done, however it was done in groups.
Very helpful, it has helped me decide that I want a career in business in the future.
No.
A couple, we got to network with Tesco, Dell and Network Rail’s employees too as well as a couple of Computacenters.
Yes
A lot of fun getting to know the business, employees, clients and other students and it helped me to develop my soft skills.
Honestly, just have fun with it, make sure you listen as you gain some valuable advice and feedback from everyone you meet.
