  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role consists of doing case work everyd day, answering e-mails and phone calls along with doing my modern apprentice work on time and for the deadline agreed before our next meeting. I also ensure to flow GDPR rules when working everyday so every client has confidentiality when talking to me over the phone and e-mails.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed confidence in talking to new people when answering the phone to clients and Money Advisers. I have also gained confidence in myself when writing e-mails to people I need to contact. I have developed existing skills when doing my Modern Apprentice work as I am developing my knowledge from school.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship, it breaks up my day and also gives me knowledge about business and administration in many different ways. It also lets me continue to learn which I love doing along with extending my knowledge. I get to share my experience and compare with my colleagues too.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the apprenticeship is really easy to follow with how it is structured, along with the help of my trainer this also makes it really helpful because any time i am looking for help or advice I know I can reach out to my trainer and she will always be happy to help.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer, they are always there to help and offer support when and if it is needed. The learning and development team is especially supportive ensuring that we all get time to manage our work and our apprenticeship along with attending training we want to attend.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a lot of support from my trainer as I have previously mentioned. She is happy to explain in more detail if need be or give me extra materials to support if I do not understand or want something to compare and reference to when completing my work.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that most of the work within our modern apprenticeship is relevant to our work and some of the basic more simpler systems we use such as word and excel. However, there is not anything that is specifically catered to our line of work and what we do in the office.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is not anything like this at my work, there is a gym within the workplace where you can sign up and pay for the membership however it is not AIB. You are paying money for the gym membership. Maybe something like this could come into the workplace eventually.

  • 9a. Would you recommend ACCOUNTANT IN BANKRUPTCY to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • AIB is an amazing place to work with lots of friendly people who are so easy to get along with, Everyone is so supportive and working here is more than a job. It is something I enjoy. I never dread coming into work and doing my job as helping people is something I have a passion for and that is what I am doing.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to ACCOUNTANT IN BANKRUPTCY?
  • Definitely follow the STAR method which is required when anyone applies. Answer all questions fully and thoroughly. Do not give any brief explanations. If you get an interview, be yourself and act professional, wear office attire in your interview and prepare for any questions beforehand. This should help al ot of people.
