Providing useful insight and stories using data provided (or obtained myself), in order to explain and explore what is going on throughout the medical skincare universe. This usually consists of creating reports or spreadsheets, in order to compare and contrast L Oréal against the rest of the market.
This role forced me out of my comfort zone from the very start. Almost immediately after beginning the role, I started to learn programmes and softwares I had never heard of, or lacked experience with. With the help of my line manager, I progressed rapidly and have now developed many new skills such as; - PowerBI - Excel - Presentation Skills - Data Analytics - How to Collaborate With Others.
I am completely content with my current role. Within the first year of this apprenticeship I have developed in areas I never thought I could (especially socially). My line manager has been super helpful and understanding, and everyone else who I have either worked with, or spoken to, is the exact same.
It is hard to find any faults within this apprenticeship scheme, however, I do believe the University side could be a little more organised. Sometimes communication can be lacking, and emails can be missed, but after reaching out, the staff at the University are always extremely understanding and diligent.
Tons. They are extremely conscious of the pressures present within the workplace, and always cater fully to the individual who may require support. There is a team solely dedicated to wellness of employees, which can be reassuring for some. There is also a lot of support for those who might be struggling to grasp their role.
Sometimes, the study work can be tedious and vague, which is inevitable when you spend only a small amount of time in the week at university. Thankfully however, all my lecturers have been very open to questions and enquiries about the modules we are currently studying. This extends outside of study hours too. If there is ever a request or help needed, you can feel free to send an email and expect a reply back quickly.
I do feel as if my qualification has helped performance within my role, but only slightly. In a role so heavily focused around data analytics, it is hard to see direct improvement by looking at my qualification. This is because there is not so much analysis on data within the modules we study at University. However, I can say for sure, it has helped improve my presentation skills at work.
There are LOTS of activities around the workplace, some organised by the company and others individually. Socials/ Work parties are heavily encouraged here, as it is seen as a way to bond with colleagues. A few examples I could list consist of; - Running Club - Weekly Football - Charity Marathons - Divisional Party's (held at venues) - Mini Golf - Apprentice Only Meet and Greets.
Yes
I believe with the work environment being as inclusive as it is, L Oréal has a space for everyone. Whether you would like to join solely for the corporate work experience, or with aims to build a career. L Oréal is a company that will give back just as much as you are willing to put in.
Be yourself, but try something new! By putting myself in situations I normally would not, I have exposed myself to so many more opportunities. This is largely due to the encouragement of my manager, who realised potential in me that I did not.
