What it involves can vary, i will either be on the floor out front or in the kitchen. Sometimes a bit of everything for example, running food, taking orders or serving drinks and interacting with guests. Good knowledge of the tills and door system is a must as everyone sees to guests at the door and when they are ready to pay
I have most definitely developed my confidence in talking to people and interpersonal skills such as answering the phone as i used to have an anxiety when it came to speaking to others on the phone but that is slowly going away and i am becoming more confident in answering.
I enjoy doing my level 2 NVQ in food and beverage as i am learning about a range of different things and with the new way to do our work on Aptem i find it a lot easier to learn the information that i need to and complete the work
Since Aptem coming out my programme is very organised as it has sections for each month under the learning plan and i can see where im up to for that month and also see what work is due and needs completing for that month. It also gives me the chance to go ahead with work.
I recieve a lot of support from my employer as they are very easy to talk to and will do their best to help with any support that you need with work or anything that is going on outside work and will always be there if you need the support.
I do recieve alot of help and support from my tutor and they have said i can contact them at any time with any questions that i have about the work and they will get back to me. They also point me in the right directon with questions but dont guve me the answer so i am able to figure it out myself.
I feel that it helps me very well as developing my interpersonal skills was apart of my personal development plan and in following that plan i have improved them greatly in that i have more confidence when it comes to answering the phone and workkng the booking system at the door.
There is a networmong breakfast that is held at our pub from time to time for business people to network with others and share their ideas and plans for a business or their own business and genrally have a good morning socializing with new or familiar faces and helping others.
Yes
Marston's is a good company to work for as you recieve the best support their is and can do a range of qualifications throigh them such as the NVQs and get paid whilst learning more about what you already know or have an idea of and meet new faces whilst doing the courses
Be yourself and do not develop a fake personality and there will be people that ypu may not particularly get on with but that is apart of life and dont let it put you off. You will recieve the best support in and outside of work and there are a range of courses to do if you are not in education
