My role primarily involved managing digital media channels and activating the ads the team want to get live, as well as providing reporting information and general support to campaign managers. Day to day I would take assets and copy and put them into out document for communication to the advertising agency, check performance of ads and take part in many discussions as to how to improve performance and results from our media spend.
I learned so many new skills throughout the role, not just how to use certain platforms and developing skills I already have, but also soft skills like how to liaise effectively, plan my day and manage deadlines. It also gave me a much better confidence in what is expected in the workplace, the reality of work and also my own capabilities and potential.
I really enjoy the work role; great company, team and general ethos. Responsibilities given are the right level of challenging, where I can find the solution within my skill set but it takes applying myself and thinking about the best way to achieve the end result. As with any role there will be some tasks you dread and dislike but all considered I'm very happy.
The workplace structure has been great, clear path of advancement and development at a pace that fits my capabilities. I found that the apprenticeship learning side of things was a bit less organised, but the slower cadence of sessions meant I could focus more on the work, and in the end I think I benefitted more from learning through doing daily rather than listening to a 2 hour learning session.
My employer has been fantastic, any issues or concerns they have been very receptive and have tried to find a solution wherever possible. The pace of work has been perfect and when I have had external problems there has been a really understanding response and all the support I could need.
The support from the training provider has been intermittent, which wasn't helped by my initial tutor going on maternity leave half way through the apprenticeship curriculum. As above I feel like I have learned more, got more support from my workplace and ultimately stopped looking to my training provider for help.
I think the qualification will benefit me on paper but when it comes to what information it has primed me with that helps with the job role - I feel I certainly learned more valuable information, in a larger quantity, in a shorter time period, from working in my job role.
Yes there are multiple things to get involved with here, from social clubs to interest groups to colleague events and parties. The company also has a great workplace feel where I know I could approach anyone on a more personal level and be taken at face value and not judged.
Yes
Its a great place to work with really involved, helpful and engaged colleagues. I always feel like work we are doing is valuable and purposeful, and when talking to people regardless of seniority they will all treat you with respect and be honest. Perks and pay are okay but the real selling point is the community and quality of people that work here and that's what you'll want to stay for.
Be honest and be yourself, nobody is expecting anything more than what you offer and everyone wants to help enable you to do the best you can not only in your day to day role but also going forwards - there is really good support for advancement both internally and also help and guidance if you have long term ambitions you want to achieve. Show that you have ambition, are motivated and personable and you have nothing to worry about!
