Recruitment, payroll input, compliance of DBS, RTW, attending meetings, taking minutes, submitting orders, carrying out audits, general administrative tasks i.e. sending out letters and other communication documents, ensuring that HR / personnel files are up to date. Answering telephones, emails... supporting the sites and company in an organisational and administrative way.
Yes, I have developed a number of skills during my apprenticeship with Paragon Skills including; communication, organisations, project planning and coaching. I feel that the course has really boosted by confidence as I have a wider insight into how the company works and other factors that affect the business. I also feel that my vocabulary has increased as I have had to write a number of reports and essays.
I really enjoyed my programme, there were times when it was sometimes difficult to focus on my work for my apprenticeship as well as completing my day to day job as there is always something that needs my attention but in those circumstances I had to prioritise my tasks. I also found it interesting to learn more about the business I work for and the organisation.
Very well, it was all laid out clearly within the different units, and I had different tasks set for each month which we would go through in our meetings. I felt I could ask any questions that I needed to and had enough time to submit the work, generally 3 weeks.
I work in an office away from my manager however, if I needed any support or needed to ask a question I knew I could always approach my manager, a colleague or a different department for this information. My employer attended my review calls and always sent over any required information asap.
The support I have received from Paragon has been invaluable. My tutor was always there on hand and had the knowledge in every area that I needed. She was confident delivering any training materials and was able to break it down if I had any additional questions. Thank you Paragon.
I feel my new qualification has given me a further insight and understanding/knowledge into the business type and the organisation itself. In particular, as part of the project I focused on company policies therefore, this has given me much more confidence with anything to do with policies now. I am also able to put my new learnt/developed skills into use on a daily basis.
There are networking events that we are able to attend however, they do not happen very often - for my job role perhaps twice a year which I enjoy.
Yes
I love working for Cygnet, I feel valued, trusted and respected by my colleagues/managers. It is a fair company to work for and the progression options are great for anybody looking to progress within a care company. The salary is competitive and the staff are mostly happy, kind and passionate.
Be honest, passionate, willing to help, enthusiastic, open to learning, respectful and generally friendly in order to comply with its core values; Care, Respect, Empower, Trust and Integrity - I work by these values in my professional and personal life and they can make you go far. All the best and good luck.
