I am responsible for the strategy and coordination of our graduate recruitment attraction campaigns. This includes managing our creative strategy, media plan and partnerships for all Lidl graduate programmes. I also manage and provide support with a range of ad-hoc recruitment and employer brand related projects. My apprenticeship has really helped me to understand the whole project lifecycle more, and use my new skills to deliver projects more efficiently.
On top of valuable time management and leadership skills, I have also learnt more about project lifecycles and governance, planning, stakeholders and conflict management.
It's tough managing my apprenticeship alongside my day to day role, but I am really enjoying the programme (some modules more than others) and am learning a lot from it!
Really well organised and the the modules are delivered in manageable chunks. The apprenticeship portal can sometimes glitch, however my learning coach is quick to resolve any issues I have with it.
I receive loads of support from my employer, in particular my Line Manager. he understand the importance of committing time to my apprenticeship and is accommodating when it comes to dedicating time to complete and implement my apprenticeship tasks / learnings.
My learning coach is really supportive and provides me with all of the information and advice I need to proceed with my apprenticeship.
The challenge is to implement what you learn into your day to day role, especially during busy periods when deadlines need to be met. I have already been able to use what I have learnt to improve my projects however and, as long as I work really hard, this can really help me to level up my skills and performance in general.
We meet up as often as possible for a social or team building event, and are encouraged to join as many networking events / external development workshops as possible.
Yes
It's a large global organisation, that brings with it lots of exposure and opportunities for development and progression. It can be a different experience depending on where you work in the business, but I can genuinely say that I enjoy working here and work with some fantastic people.
Do your homework on Lidl as an organisation and whether it is the right environment for you. Be passionate, know what your goals are and ask lots of questions.
