I work a variety of different stations in the restaurant to develop my knowledge of how everything works and also learn a lot of the things that go on in the background. I am also responsible for training some new starters and leading areas such as drive thoughs and drinks.
Yes, many new skills. A few are improved communication, time management, customer service, flexibility and multitasking, problem solving skills, organisation and both working individually and as part of a team.
I really enjoy my programme and think it’s an excellent way to learn about the business as it is a hands on approach with time every week to complete assignments and learn the other aspects of the business such as cashing up.
Very well. My restaurant are really accommodating and always happy to help and make sure I have my time off the floor every week to complete my assignments. Also when I am on the floor, the managers will try to teach me new things to enhance my experience.
A lot. I could not ask for a better support network than my employer. They are always happy to help.
Lifetime have been there for me from the very start of my apprenticeship and my learning coach is always just a text or phone call away and will help me in any way she can.
I feel like the tasks and assignments I complete at Lifetime each week make me view McDonalds and certain tasks differently as it makes me think about the task and my job role more. It helps me in many ways such as customer service and with being a crew trainer.
I attended the McDonalds apprenticeship event in London which was a truly amazing day and such a great experience. I learned a lot this day and it is one of my best memories of the apprenticeship so far and I would love to do it again.
Yes
Just a great company to work for and the opportunity to earn whilst you learn and gain a degree and knowledge on a global company is an incredible opportunity.
It is a stressful environment, but the more you do it the easier it becomes, making sure customers have a great experience makes it all worth it and the team is amazing. Try not to be nervous because everyone has been new before and the staff are like a family and will be there for you, to help you no matter what.
