I am a Solutions Architect in AstraZeneca and work on building Data and AI-based solutions for the business teams to help with specific improvements and strategic business initiatives across the organisation. I interact with several business leads and product owners to understand their requirements, and then I work with different technology teams to design an appropriate architecture that will leverage several artificial intelligence and data-related techniques, platforms, and services. I also leverage multiple tools from platform vendors like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and OpenAI to build solutions using out-of-box / off-the-shelf components. I have end-end responsibilities as an architect, such as consulting and leading several programmes interfacing with multiple leadership team members from several business domains and functions to helping support implementations and make sure that they are a success.
I've learnt so many new skills during my apprenticeship at AstraZeneca which includes but is not limited to - 1. Several Machine Learning Techniques 2. Python based Data Modelling, Statistical Data Exploration, ML Model training, tracking, deployment 3. Ethical aspects of AI 4. Stakeholder management and structuring AI projects for success.
I am glad that I got the opportunity to learn and grow my skills in a niche area which is gaining quite a lot of traction in the industry. I loved the blended nature of the programme, where I learned theory and practical and really applied the principles and learnings at the workplace on real use cases and scenarios. This blended approach has really helped me get hands-on experience and gain confidence in my new skills. The learning provider Northeastern University London have also been great at supporting the MSc in AI programme with regular catchups and the content has been great.
It is very well structured, and the content is great and relevant. The assignments are practical and challenging pushing boundaries to help really learn the new concepts. the programme also scaled well, starting with basics but pretty soon deep dived into complex topics. the course leads were always available for help and additional support.
Good support, I have regular reviews with my manager and there are a lot of initiatives from the Apprenticeship team in the organisation. Given that I was an experienced Apprentice with 15 years of experience I did not require much support but the support was available if required.
A lot of prompt support, advice and additional help. The content of the learning is good and there are a lot of supplementary content to improve your skills further.
Has improved my confidence because of the hands-on nature of the course and I can confidently now approach AI/Machine learning problems and tackle them with the right tools and skills that I've only gained as I was a part of this programme.
