My role includes collating and analysing digital marketing data from a number of different sources. I work with my internal marketing team, as well as external agencies, to review the data and provide recommendations and optimisations to the channel marketing teams, including paid search, paid social, display and programmatic channels. I also review historical data to help plan future financial budgets and targets.
I have developed a number of new skills, particularly in using different reporting dashboards. I have also learned how to navigate a number of different social media channels, as well as CMS platforms. The skills I have developed during my apprenticeship include communication skills (written, verbal and presentation skills), as well as maths and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
This apprenticeship with Sage has been a really positive experience. I have had the opportunity to develop my knowledge and confidence via a number of projects and now have my own responsibilities within the team. I have had a lot of support to get me to the level where I am comfortable working on my own tasks independently, and also really enjoy the collaborative work I undertake.
I had a clear path of what I needed to achieve in my apprenticeship and when, and have stuck to this plan throughout the last 18 months. I have been given the opportunity to develop my skills further in areas I have particularly enjoyed. I was able to take regular time out of my role to complete apprenticeship assignments and had regular contact with my tutor.
The support I have received from Sage has been fantastic. I have been given a number of opportunities to shadow colleagues and collaborate on different projects. I have had support whenever I have felt unsure of my work, or my apprenticeship work and have been able to use valuable feedback to get to the level where I am now a valued member of the team.
I have had regular sessions with my tutors to help me complete my exams, projects and portfolio. I have had support in group sessions with the college, as well as individual sessions with my tutor. Any questions I had were answered promptly and any support I needed was given, so that I am able to complete my course.
My qualification has given me a much better understanding of marketing as an industry. I do not feel as though I would have been able to get the job I now have without this apprenticeship. It is a really fantastic opportunity, not only for school leavers, but also for people looking for a change of career.
There are a number of social activities to get involved with at Sage, these include team meet ups in different offices and cities, Sage Foundation Days where the team takes a day out of work to volunteer in the local community, as well as team meals and team bonding days.
Yes
Sage is a fantastic place to work, the level of support is unlike anything I have experienced at work before. The opportunities for progression, and how much you are cared for as an individual makes it a really lovely place to work. There are so many things to get involved in outside of your day to day role, too.
Preparation is key when applying, make sure you have done your research into the sector and the company. Do not be afraid to ask questions or get involved in the interview days, they are really fun and your interviewers want to get the best out of you. There will be a lot of great candidates applying so find the thing that makes you the best person for the job, and show it off!
