My confidence has greatly increased since beginning my apprenticeship after being given the opportunity to deliver inductions and presentations. I am now more comfortable with public speaking and interactions. My industry specific knowledge and HSE knowledge as a whole has grown massively since working for Balfour Beatty.
I really enjoyed my programme as I was given the opportunity to do/ learn many things while on the job. I got to see more than just my usual working environment.
My apprenticeship coursework was very well structured and I was given the necessary time I needed to complete it.
My employer/ line manager was very supportive and eager to help where possible. They provided me with many learning opportunities and pushed me to take on tasks that may have been slightly beyond my comfort zone initially which ultimately allowed me to improve.
My training provider and learning coach provided me with tremendous support through having regular 121's with me, responding to any questions/ issues I had with my coursework.
I believe that the qualification has helped massively when it comes to improving my general knowledge of Health, Safety, and the Environment (Legislation, Regulations, Best practices, etc.); however, when it comes to my day to day job role, I find that it requires more industry specific knowledge.
There are plenty however this isn't something that I am personally interested in and so I do not keep up with most upcoming social events.
Yes
I would recommend Balfour Beatty's apprenticeship scheme to anyone that was in the same position I was in 2 years ago. They provided me with not just the knowledge, but the tools and the character development opportunities that will greatly benefit my career.
