My role is very enjoyable, I enjoy my team culture thoroughly and feel very supported in terms of my work load and wellbeing. I am consistently pushed and I am always learning more skills such as organisation skills, booking meetings, and scheduling events like face to face meetings and hosting them.
I have developed and learnt many skills such as presenting skills, I was enrolled in a presenting workshop which was a 3 part, 2 hour meeting in which we were required to create multiple presentations, listen to a presenter teach us skills in presenting, building confidence how to make your presentation stand out.
I enjoy the programme a lot. The social side is also a bonus, I enjoy the freedom of meeting deadlines of my own back, travelling to different offices on a flexible basis as well as spending time with my team completing tasks and helping them with theirs. I enjoy having a mentor which I learn a lot from also.
The programme is nicely structured, we work a day job including 7.3 hours a day, 5 days a week. On top of that I am completing a level 3 business admin diploma which takes up 20% of your time or 1 day a week for the first year and a bit.
I received a poor support from my first line manager however after swapping teams my support network is brilliant. I have weekly meetings with my line manager and I know I can ask for help or discuss an overrun workload with them whenever I like. I also have regular mentor meetings.
I had less support than I hoped for. I felt underprepared for a few of my assessments as there was no curriculum textbooks or other sources of information other than a few slide decks we were given. I passed the qualification and completed all knowledge tests including the final one with distinction.
I feel as though it helps slightly however I already knew quite a lot of the content prior to the course so it would help more if I did not already know most of what it teaches. I think my time on the job helps significantly more than the qualification.
There is an abundance of extra curricular activities at my work. Constant events in the office such as free breakfast, drinks and snacks after work. Team building, well being events, bake sales. Seasonal events are also common such as christmas, easter, halloween etc. There are also many apprentice social events.
Yes
It is a great company to work for with offices all over the globe. Many opportunities and benefits also, free private healthcare has helped me multiple times. My team is a joy to work in, I have built a great network of colleagues and friends.
I would try to build connections as a priority. People are really nice and happy to help. If you are new, take the opportunity to learn and admit you do not know how to do something before you really should know how to do it. Keep notes of how to execute tasks so you can refer back in the future.
