My role is an apprentice design engineer and learning the ins and outs of being a design engineer. I currently support and projects and also complete a variety of tasks, from completing health and safety forms to designs.
There is a huge amount of skills that I have learned such as managing my time well as per deadlines on certain projects. I have also further developed my CAD skills as I learned CAD the previous year in college.
I greatly enjoy the programme as I think on the job training is a fantastic opportunity and would recommend it to everyone.
I think my programme is well organised and structured as everything was planned well before my arrival.
I receive a huge amount of support from my employer whether its to do with work or if its college.
I think I receive a fair amount of support from my training provider as they are very understanding when I cannot make it in due to any work reason.
I think it helps me in a slight way as it is a civil engineering course and so far I have not learned anything to do with the railway or designing railways.
Yes, there is a huge variety of extra-curricular activities to get involved in at work, whether networking opportunities or volunteering days.
Yes
